4 Government Workers Sacked Barely a Week After Apointment

Mandera
Governor Mohammed Adan’s Mandera County Government has annulled important appointments it issued only a week after the appointees took office.
Mandera County Health Services Chief Executive Mumtaza Bishar Musa announced the revocation of appointments for four board members on behalf of the governor in a notice published in the Kenya Gazette on Friday.
Four individuals—Oman Issack Abdi, Abdikadar Daud Adan, Shamhad Mohamud, and Rashid Mohamed Ahmed—were appointed by the Mandera County Government to important roles in the county’s healthcare sector.
The first three were appointed as board members of the Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital, with Rashid Mohamed Ahmed taking on the role of chairperson at Kotulo Sub-County Hospital.
After the appointments were revoked, the devolved unit announced that it had selected new individuals to those positions.
Abdisalam Adan Ahmed, Abdishakur Daud Adan (reappointed), and Sahara Mohamed Noor have been appointed as members of the board for Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Meanwhile, the new chairperson of Kotulo Sub-County Hospital was appointed: Abdiaziz Issack Nurow. For a duration of three years, he will supervise the management of the hospital.
Nonetheless, the county government did not promptly grasp the rationale behind the revocations of new appointees who had held office for under a week.
The appointments for hospitals in Rhamu, Banisa, Lafey, Takaba, and Elwak sub-counties remained as previously indicated in the gazette notice.
