Sudden Grief as Grade 9 Student Dies Aftet Winning Race

A family from Bureti is grieving the sudden loss of their son, who died shortly after winning a shot put event at a school sports championship.
Samwel Cheruiyot, a 16-year-old Grade 9 student at Chelilis Junior Secondary School, collapsed shortly after the games while celebrating his victory with classmates. He had just won the shot put competition.
He was taken to Chelilis Clinic, where medical staff tried to administer First Aid before transferring him to Litein Hospital and then to Kapkatet Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
The family, according to Cheruiyot’s father, will await the results of a postmortem examination. He also mentioned that his son had experienced epilepsy.
