In a tragic development, a mother rejected her disabled newborn, resulting in the baby being abandoned at ITARC hospital in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

What typically concludes as a joyous occasion, with mothers thrilled to take their newborns home, was not the situation at ITARC hospital. After the birth, upon noticing her child’s deformities, the mother promptly rejected her offspring and informed the nurses of her unwillingness to have it.

As reported, the new mother declined to put the baby in the clothes she had purchased; instead, she placed them in a bag and left the baby on the bed.

The medical staff reported that the child’s absent father sent a representative, but they abandoned the child after seeing its appearance and claimed they didn’t want it.

The newborn had a deformed skull with an empty forehead, contrary to what doctors term as a complete child. Additionally, the child lacked a nose, with only the nostrils visible, and the eyes were positioned significantly lower than the forehead, directly above the mouth.

Des Weiteren hatte das Neugeborene einige Zehen und Finger an Händen bzw. Füßen weniger.

The staff reported that the mother stated it was preferable for the infant to die than for her to take it at home.

Consequently, ITARC Hospital has initiated the transfer of the child for reconstructive plastic surgery to assist in restoring their physical appearance.

The doctors, who have been providing the child with food and clothing, named her baby Tayan, a name of Maasai origin

Consequently, the hospital is appealing to benevolent Kenyans to assist in rectifying the deformity and to adopt the child, providing her with a home.
