Governor Kihika Slams Senator Keroche For Ochestrating Protests in the County

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has condemned county Senator Tabitha Karanja Keroche, alleging that she is responsible for a surge of protests from residents aimed at her administration.
Kihika, via a statement from County Secretary Dr. Samwel Mwaura, claimed that the recent protest in Olenguruone regarding the road’s bad condition and supposed subpar maternal services was fabricated and arranged by Senator Keroche to damage the reputation of the county government.
Mwaura stated that the reason for the delay in road work was the delayed release of tea cess by the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), which could have been used to carry out the work.
“Thanks to our Governor’s efforts, KTDA consented last year to submit Ksh.66.8 million in four instalments. To date, we have received Ksh.33.4 million, which will greatly assist in tackling the road issues in Tinet, Amalo, and Kiptagich,” stated the County Secretary.
MCA Mosop Ward, Dr. Alex Langat, and her nominated counterpart Leah Serem criticized Senator Keroche for her comments about maternal health services and for belittling the Governor’s decision to give birth abroad.
According to them, the Senator has not assisted the county government in promoting her development agenda; rather, she has been in conflict with the county government and has not fulfilled her constitutional obligations.
Governor Kihika has come under fire due to the poor condition of health services in the county.
Residents have expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the absence of medical facilities in the hospitals, as well as the subpar quality of services.
