Nairobi police have detained three individuals suspected of being involved in a Sh23.8 million robbery.

After being linked to a number of break-ins and thefts at warehouses in Nairobi and the surrounding areas, the suspects were detained.

The suspects are alleged by police to have burglarized a warehouse and absconded with items valued at Sh23.8 million.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, a manhunt was initiated after a complaint was filed at the Industrial Area Police Station on February 3, 2025.

The complaint elaborated on a warehouse burglary and theft, where law enforcement utilized forensic evidence to apprehend two suspects.

“When questioned, the two individuals showed the investigators to a warehouse in Ruiru. “There, investigators found 80 Samsung 43-inch TVs,” police stated.

Moreover, the suspects led the police to a house where another TV was confiscated.

They directed officers to Kariobangi and Gikomba, where two additional televisions and ten rolls of seat upholstery material were seized.

The net closed in on February 13, 2025, with the arrest of the third suspect. According to police, a follow-up search of his residence revealed ten solar panels.

Additionally, the suspect directed law enforcement to the Industrial Area, where they stopped a lorry. The vehicle was discovered packed with 233 rolls of seat material, thought to be part of the stolen goods.

The police stated that all three suspects are in custody, being processed as they wait for their court appearance.

The seized items are being held as evidence.

On Friday morning, the National Police Service carried out a coordinated security operation at Elementaita in Nakuru County, resulting in the arrest of at least eight individuals suspected of drug trafficking.

The police stated that the operation, which resulted in the confiscation of 497 kilograms of suspected cannabis contained in twenty-one sacks, was carried out following a public tipoff.

”Law enforcement officials stormed a property in the vicinity, where they performed a thorough search and retrieved 21 bags of the illegal substance.”

The suspects are in police custody, awaiting processing and arraignment.
