On Tuesday, February 25, well-known comedian and radio show host Mulamwah, whose real name is David Oyando, revealed that he was leaving Milele FM.
Mulamwah announced in a statement that due to a contractual dispute, he would no longer be hosting his show, Konki.
“Konki, end of the show. I give up. It was a pleasant run. At last, we broke up our relationship with Media Max Networks Ltd. and Milele FM. We couldn’t agree on conditions for renewal when the contract expired,” Mulamwah said.
Mulamwah used the occasion to express his gratitude to the Konki show’s management and audience for their support while he was hosting the program.
He also seemed to allude to his future moves after leaving, which were still in the digital space but away from the radio studio.
Mulamwah said, “Among many other plans in stock, a new YouTube show and a Mulamwah stand-up special are coming up (limited tickets available).”
Mulamwah’s withdrawal represents his second departure from Milele, following his departure due to a contractual dispute in 2023. He returned to Milele a week later after the problem was swiftly fixed.
Prior to that, Mulamwah began working at the Mediamax-owned station in May 2022, pursuing a lifelong dream of working in radio.
Mulamwah and Meshack Jillian co-hosted the station’s Konki show, a daily afternoon program that ran from 1:00 to 4:00.
The program immediately attracted a devoted audience, and the dynamic collaboration was acknowledged for successfully fusing humor with thought-provoking conversations.
Mulamwah’s content has received millions of views and gone viral on his social media channels, garnering him national prominence as a content creator in addition to his radio exploits.
