Whatsapp Group Admin Shot Dead After Allegedly Removing Member

After reportedly killing the moderator of a communal WhatsApp group who kicked him out of the discussion, a Pakistani man was charged with murder, according to authorities on Saturday.
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that borders Afghanistan and has a history of violent sectarian conflict, was the scene of Mushtaq Ahmed’s shooting death Thursday night.
AFP and a local police official have seen police paperwork that charge a guy known only as Ashfaq with his murder.
In a statement seen by AFP, Mushtaq’s brother said that after an altercation, Mushtaq expelled Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group.
He claimed that although the parties had made plans to meet and make amends, Ashfaq killed his brother when he showed up brandishing a revolver.
“In reaction to removal from WhatsApp group,” Ashfaq said, he was furious.
Such instances are common because to the availability of firearms, the impact of tribal norms, and occasionally lax law enforcement.
