'I Dont Respond Evil With Evil' - Nyoro Speaks Out After His Removal From Budget Committee

Ndindi Nyoro, a Kiharu MP, claims he is clueless as to why he was ousted from his position as chair of the powerful Budget and Appropriations Committee.

Last week, Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi succeeded Nyoro, who was in his second term.

Atandi belongs to ODM.

Allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were also ousted from important leadership roles in parliament as part of the reorganization.

Speaking from his office during a nationwide news conference on Tuesday, Nyoro claimed that despite the fact that his appointment was the result of extensive consultations, he had not been told why he had been fired.

“Consultations led to the position I held. There must be lengthy conversations before such a choice is taken. But I haven’t spoken to any of our coalition leaders about my removal, either in person or over the phone,” Nyoro said.

According to Nyoro, who was regarded as President William Ruto’s close ally before to his dismissal, he last had a political conversation with the president last year.

“Before October of last year, I had my most recent political conversation with the president, either in person or via chat. “I don’t want to talk about personalities any more,” he declared.

Nyoro thanked Kenyans for the chance to chair the Budget Committee, but he remained evasive regarding his future political move. He did, however, stress that he had no grudges against anyone since he feels that a leader should not be burdened by wrath and animosity.

“I don’t react negatively to negativity. I don’t want to think I’m more knowledgeable than I actually am. Additionally, I think that hatred and rage are too much for any leader to bear,” he added.

“You only use your negative feelings to your detractors’ benefit.”

Nyoro stated that he would not go into specifics to address the government’s current performance, claiming that any work will speak for itself.
