KHALIF KAIRO Arrested Again At Milimani Law Courts

Popular vehicle trader, Joseph Kairu Wambui alias Khalif Kairo was detained again on Tuesday, March 25, and new allegations were filed against him.

Kairo was arrested at the Milimani Law Courts immediately after three other ongoing cases accusing him of defrauding clients were referenced.

Kairo was detained again, this time on new fraud charges. He was accused of accepting full money from a client for a BMW but failing to deliver the vehicle.

Footage posted online showed Kairo in a dark grey suit and handcuffs, but apparently in good spirits, with the vehicle dealer surrounded by people thought to be police officers.

The famed vehicle dealer is scheduled to be arraigned in court tomorrow.

Kairo, who is regarded as a ‘boastful’ personality, rose to prominence through his eye-catching online vehicle sales marketing exploits, which earned him a big following.

Kairo, who has been involved in multiple legal battles over botched car sales transactions, spent much of the last few days of last year and early this year defending himself.

Kairo described his recent arrest as “politically motivated.”

In a cryptic post, Kairo seems to imply that his problems are the product of sabotage and a witch hunt, adding that he would recover with the help of Kenyans.

“This is politically motivated. Every time I start waking up, getting deals here and there, and going back to work, the arrests mysteriously begin,” Kairo remarked.

“No summons, no nothing. And conveniently, cameras are always rolling, even inside police stations.”

“Can’t keep a man who is determined to win down. We will overcome everything. Keep praying for me, keep supporting and keep wishing me well,” he expressed.

“It’s a tough economy that doesn’t favour youth-driven enterprise but calm seas never make good sailors.”

According to the vehicle dealer, the ongoing issues that have badly harmed his brand have resulted in the closing of his offices.

“We have tried everything in our ability to try to resolve these issues amicably and ensure we do deliveries,” Kairo once shared.

“However, the negative media publicity and constant police involvement are putting us in deeper waters and severely affecting our ability to operate. All our offices are currently closed.”

Despite claims of fraud totaling tens of millions of shillings, the dealer has maintained his innocence.

“I have had an impressive ten-year run in business with zero criminal cases pertaining to cars and thousands of people have successfully bought cars from me,” he added.

His issues sparked a heated debate online, with Kenyans divided on whether he was innocent or wrongfully implicated in the fraudulent actions.
