Elvis Murakana, the son of Beatrice Elachi, a member of parliament for Dagoretti North, has passed away.
Murakana reportedly died from injuries he received in a gruesome traffic accident on Tuesday, March 25.
Prior to his death, the deceased was undergoing treatment after being taken to the intensive care unit.
On Tuesday evening, President William Ruto led other leaders in delivering Elachi a condolence message.
“May God give the family and Mheshimiwa Beatrice Elachi the fortitude to cope with the loss of their beloved son, Elvis Murakana… Take solace in the Lord’s message in Psalm 147:3: “He binds up their wounds and heals the brokenhearted,” Ruto said.
Complaints were also sent by the Orange Democratic Party, which supported Elachi for the Dagoretti North seat.
“May God grant Hon. Beatrice Elachi (MP, Dagoretti North) and her family the fortitude and strength to overcome the pain of losing her son Elvis Murakana Namenya. It is such a huge loss to Mheshimiwa. As a party we stand with her during this difficult moment of mourning and grief,” ODM stated in a statement.
Among the leaders who sent their condolences to Elachi was Catherine Omanyo, a woman legislator from Busia County.
“After the untimely death of their son, my thoughts and prayers are with Hon. Beatrice Elachi and her family. I offer my sincerest sympathies on behalf of my family and the residents of Busia County. “Pole sana,” she reassured.
Elachi was also comforted by Robert Alai, Kileleshwa Member of the County Assembly (MCA).
Alai expressed his sorrow, saying, “I offer you and your family my sincerest condolences on the tragic loss of your son, Elvis Murakana.”
