‘We Have Released Ksh950 Million For Blocked Nyeri Roads!’ – Ruto Announces

President William Ruto has stated that his government will provide Sh950 million to resuscitate delayed road construction projects in Nyeri County.

Ruto stated that the better economy now permits the government to support previously postponed initiatives.

He was speaking to Nyeri Town residents as part of his Mount Kenya development tour.

Many road projects across the country have been halted during the last two years due to economic concerns.

“This week, we have released Sh950 million to jumpstart all the stalled road projects so that their construction can continue,” said President Ruto.

He reassured locals that the administration is dedicated to resuming unfinished infrastructure projects.

“In the past, we had some economic difficulties, but we have since resolved them. We are now going to revive all your stalled road projects,” he added.

Prior to his tour of the Mt Kenya region, local leaders had urged the President to complete initiatives started by his predecessor, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Critics pointed to the stalled initiatives as evidence of the present administration’s purported disregard for the region.

However, during his five-day tour of the region, President Ruto attempted to reassure inhabitants that he had not abandoned them.

Instead, he announced a variety of development pledges, including multibillion-shilling electrical connectivity schemes.

“We shall complete all those stalled projects to ensure we fulfil our campaign promises to the people of Nyeri County,” Ruto told the crowd on April 5.

During his visit to Nyeri, the President also stated that at least 10,000 families in the county would be linked to electricity over the next seven months.

The tour forms part of the President’s wider effort to solidify his support base in the Mt Kenya region, promising renewed development efforts and emphasizing unity.
