“Stop Fooling Kenyans” Nicholas Gumbo slams ODM leaders for insisting they are not in government
Former Rarieda Member of Parliament Nicholas Gumbo has hit out at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership over its insistence that the party is not part of the Kenya Kwanza government.
Gumbo, an ally of President William Ruto, claims ODM is now fully part of the government, and it should stop taking Kenyans for a ride.
According to the former MP who is currently the Kenya Sugar Board chairman, while the Orange party’s leadership insists they are in the opposition, their actions reflect the contrary.
“I want to tell the ODM leadership to stop fooling Kenyans. They have consistently claimed that they are not part of the government, but we are witnessing a completely different reality,” Gumbo stated.
Speaking to journalists in Rarieda on Saturday, April 5, the former legislator pointed out that it was contradictory for the party to keep denying its participation in the government when many of its members are holding lucrative positions both in the executive branch and in parliament.

ODM’s acting party leader, Anyang’ Nyong’o, recently insisted that the party has not joined the government despite a recent agreement between them and the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
“The cooperation agreement that was signed between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga is clear proof that ODM is already in government,” Gumbo said. ODM leaders have maintained not being part of the government despite some of its senior members being tapped for the Cabinet Secretary positions.
Some of the recent nominees for the Principal Secretaries have also been linked to ODM leader Raila Odinga. Will William Ruto be a one-term president? Meanwhile, the former MP dismissed Kenyans who believe President William Ruto will not win a second term.
He asked locals in the larger Nyanza region to embrace the Kenya Kwanza administration, which he noted is almost assured of serving another term. “For those who think that William Ruto will be a one-term president, I urge you to start changing your mindset. You will be surprised, especially us Luos. The earlier we accept this, the better it will be for the development of our region,” he said.
