Murkomen Breaks Silence Sunday’s Goon Attack Gachagua, Church
Kipchumba Murkomen, the Interior Cabinet Secretary, has pledged that security services will stop goons and gang attacks.
This comes a day after goons stormed a PCEA Kasarani East church on Sunday, April 6, which was attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachaga.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, April 7, the CS stated that security services throughout the nation will be on watch to ensure that public areas, such as churches, schools, and streets, are clear of goons.
Additionally, the CS underlined that the agencies will defend any member of the public who is exercising their constitutional rights, regardless of political party.
“Part of the reason that we are dealing with gangs here is to make sure that there is no place in the Republic of Kenya that will allow any goons or gangs to invade any facility, whether it’s a church, school, or even the streets,” he said.
“This country must be led by the rule of law. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere.

“We cannot allow extrajudicial processes to continue in the country. We must remain a country of law and order, and we do not want to subscribe to any political side,” he added.
“Our purpose is to ensure that everybody can exercise their rights freely across the country as long as they are conducting it peacefully.”
On Sunday in Kasarani, security agents affiliated with the former DP fired into the air to disperse scores of youngsters who had invaded the church.
Gachagua described the incident as ‘insensitive and rude,’ blaming President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for allowing goons to penetrate the church.

He said the attacks on him had escalated.
“My President. What happened to you? In a church? You have reached a different level,” he said.
“You sent me goons in Limuru last week, you sent goons to Nyeri, and now you’ve sent them to church. You have become bold.”
Following the incident, the Matungulu Member of Parliament, Stephen Mule, threatened to expel the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, if he did not prioritize people’s safety.
