‘My Life Is In Danger!’ – MP Wamuchomba Says After State Withdraws Security

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has claimed her life is in danger after answering a summons from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

On Monday, April 7, the member went to the media shortly after being summoned, making bombshell allegations against the government, including claims that ‘mercenaries’ were deployed to frighten her.

“There are mercenaries hired by politicians to intimidate, kill, and abduct. I want to announce here that my life is in danger. Anything happening to me, we know who is behind it,” the MP said.

Wamuchomba, a vocal critic of President William Ruto’s regime, also claimed that she received summons from questionable individuals.

However, when she inquired with Kiambu County Commander of Police Doris Mugambi, she was informed that it was not the police’s responsibility.

The member also accused her predecessor of orchestrating a plan to undermine her, alleging repeated office visits aimed to scare her staff.

In addition, Wamuchomba stated that her security detail had been withdrawn.

“I only had one bodyguard, whom they withdrew the same way they withdrew Gachagua’s bodyguard,” she stated.

“Then, when something happens to me, they will say it is political warfare. I want to state here that my life is in danger.”

Wamuchomba now wants the government to not only reinstate her security detail but also to deploy four bodyguards instead of one.

According to the MP, her political opponents summoned her with a clever phone call.

They apparently intended to prevent her from visiting the Githunguri Stadium ahead of the president’s development trip to the region.

During his visit, Ruto reviewed a number of projects, including the ongoing building of the Mau Mau Roads in Nyanduma, Kiambu, and the Githunguri County Integrated Industrial Park.

Wamuchomba went on to criticize Ruto for remaining mute in the face of a wave of goon attacks, particularly on leaders aligned with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

She notably mentioned the most recent incident at a PCEA church in Kasarani, in which goons attempted to invade the premises where Gachagua was worshipping.

On Sunday, security officers belonging to the former DP intervened when the teenagers rushed the church, allegedly demanding financial payments to attend the ceremony.
