‘I Will Keep The Law!’ – Gachagua Tells Ruto Allies After Arrest Threats
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vowed to continue exposing what he calls ‘shady deals’ in government without being intimidated by anyone.
While addressing those clamoring for his arrest for allegedly violating the Secrecy Act, Gachagua vowed to do the right thing and follow the law.
Speaking about Kenya’s foreign policy, Gachagua stated that the present diplomatic spat with Sudan is motivated by commercial interests.
“I saw someone trying to lecture me that I should not talk about it because I swore to some constitution…the constitution that I and Muturi (former Public Service CS) swore is to do the right thing and keep the law,” he said.
Gachagua made the words at former President Mwai Kibaki’s memorial service in Nyeri County.
Former nominated MP Wilson Sossion and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma are among those who have advocated for Gachagua’s arrest and prosecution.

Sossion accused the former DP of releasing information that he swore an oath to keep secret while in government.
“Breaking the oath of secrecy is treason. Any matter discussed with the President must not be shared publicly, especially in television interviews,” Sossion said.
“I don’t understand why the DCI has not arrested Gachagua yet.”

Kaluma described Gachagua’s words as foolish and harmful to the country.
He stated that Gachagua may say whatever he wants about President Ruto, but he cannot challenge the sovereignty, international reputation, or stability of the Republic of Kenya, as he has done.
“All citizens are equal before the law. Gachagua is not above the law. Arrest and prosecute Gachagua with offences relating to undermining the republic.”
During a recent television interview, Gachagua accused President Ruto of abusing his position to pursue his own economic and financial interests.
