Police Arrest Two For Torching Homa Bay Pastor’s Car Suspected Of Cattle Rustling
Police in Rachuonyo East sub-county apprehended two people in connection with the recent torching of a pastor’s car by residents over cattle rustling allegations.
The pastor had gone to see a lady friend in Jwela village, Ramula, and had parked his car on the road leading to the Miriu River.
Residents who saw the automobile contacted their neighbors and set up three barriers with stones.
Others kept an eye on things from 8.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m., then gathered from 10 p.m. to 11 p.
According to an eyewitness who asked not to be recognized, the pastor was attacked as he returned to the car, while his female companion fled into the darkness.
“The pastor also attempted to flee but was pushed back into the car before he finally managed to escape, but with some injuries,” the witness said.
After the pastor departed, the residents proceeded to burn down the car.
