DCI Detectives Nab 2 Kasarani Men For Scam Massage Syndicate
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested two men for using an unusual tactic to rob unsuspecting Kenyans.
The suspects, according to the DCI, posed as female massage therapists online to lure clients to rob them of their valuables.
According to authorities, the two suspects aggressively advertised ‘professional massage services’ on various online platforms to pull clients to their residence in Kasarani.
Somehow, their defrauding method has worked, with one of the victims falling for the scheme after being lured to the suspects’ house after responding to an advertisement online.

“One such victim, perhaps dreaming of scented oils and spa music, reported the ordeal to the Kasarani Police Station,” the DCI revealed in their statement.
They stated that the victim was attracted by the advertisement, which promised high-quality services.
When the suspect arrived at the residence, he was accosted by the two, who displayed firearms before forcing him to transfer Ksh280,000 to a mobile number related to the thieves.
He apparently misplaced other goods throughout the interaction, according to the DCI.
The victim reported the incident to the Kasarani Police Station, which launched investigations utilizing forensic tools to locate the culprit.
Eventually, the rogue duo were apprehended at an entertainment venue a few kilometers from their flat.
Photos of the suspects have subsequently surfaced online, painting an interesting picture of how far they went to persuade naïve consumers that they were professional massage therapists.
Notably, the suspects donned complete makeup and other feminine goods to trick potential clients into believing they were ladies ready to provide high-end massage services.

Despite its profitability, the massage industry in Kenya has recently faced stigma and criticism, owing to the vices associated with it.
Aside from concerns about phony massage therapists, there is a growing tendency for people to use their parlors to undertake other illegal operations.
In a separate sting operation, the DCI discovered an internet ring that creates bogus social media identities and impersonates high government officials to scam naïve Kenyans.
The DCI’s revelations came after two suspects were charged at the Kahawa Law Courts for allegedly operating fake accounts, including one purporting to represent Principal Secretary for Interior Raymond Omollo.
