Sole Survivor From Gen. Ogolla Crash Resurfaces As Ruto’s Photographer

Frankford Karanja Mogire, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) photojournalist and survivor of the catastrophic helicopter crash that killed Kenya’s previous Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla, has made his first public appearance one year after the disaster.

His attendance, however, sparked considerable discussion after he was seen beside President William Ruto.

“Cameraman is the guy who survived the plane crash that was carrying CDF Ogolla. I said if you still believe in coincidences, then you are not paying attention…,” one Kenyan online alleged.

Mogire, dressed in a tight suit, was photographed photographing the president on what appeared to be a typical workday for him.

However, the image alarmed other Kenyans, who questioned why he was seen with Ruto.

President Ruto’s photos show Mogire in action with two cameras, one in his hand and another attached to his side.

These photographs were taken during the unveiling of a plaque at the Lanet Regional Hospital, which is part of the Kenya Military Academy in Nakuru County.

While Kenyans wonder why he was with Ruto, it is unsurprising to see Mogire with the president.

As a KDF photographer, one of his primary duties is to cover military events, particularly those presided over by the president.

His presence was expected, given that the occasion was a KDF function.

Little is known about Mogire, a Mount Kenya University graduate; however, other Kenyans were relieved to find that he had healed well and was returning to work following the incident.
