BARINGO: Man Confesses To Killing Boda Boda Rider, Investigations Ongoing
On Monday, police in Kabarnet, Baringo County, discovered the body of a boda boda rider who had gone missing since Thursday.
This comes after a suspect was apprehended in Eldoret while riding the deceased’s motorcycle and allegedly admitted to killing him.
Police said he brought them to a location near Kabartonjo where he had hidden the body in a thicket within a valley.
Kevin Kibichii, the deceased, is believed to have received a call from a client in Kabarnet on Thursday. The call is thought to have been a set-up trap for him.
According to Baringo County police commander Julius Kiragu, the investigation is ongoing and the culprit might be a serial thief or killer.
Meanwhile, police in Embu West have opened an inquiry into a carjacking involving a man who was attacked after pulling over to relieve himself in Embu Town.
Charles Nyaga, the victim, was reportedly on his way back to Kitengela from his rural home when he pulled over on the side of the road near Embu.
“They forced me into the car and told me to move to the passenger seat,” Nyaga recounted.
“A third man then appeared and took over the steering wheel, driving off at high speed.”
According to Nyaga, two men approached from the darkness, one armed with a knife and ordered him back into his car.
Nyaga claims the automobile became bogged in the mud near Iveche, causing the suspects to loot him and leave on foot.
