‘It Depends On Him!’ – Babu Owino Calls On Ndindi Nyoro For Joint 2027 Presidential Bid
The 2027 general election could have an even larger field of presidential candidates.
The latest twist is that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has hinted at a probable joint presidential campaign with his Kiharu counterpart, Ndindi Nyoro.
Speaking on Hot 96’s breakfast broadcast, the outspoken politician claimed that many of his followers had urged him to run for president.
According to Babu, he has substantial leadership experience dating back to his days as a student leader at the University of Nairobi, which qualifies him to run for the top seat.
Furthermore, Babu stated that his Kiharu counterpart is a performer and would be a strong opponent in the race.
Nyoro was recently removed as chairman of the powerful Budget and Appropriations Committee.
”It depends on how we decide with my brother, Ndindi. He is a performer, and if today we decide that we are going for the presidency, we will win very early in the morning without even paying agents,” Babu stated.

When asked why he was considering running for president, the former University of Nairobi student leader disclosed that he was inspired by his peers throughout the world.
He added that countries like Burkina Faso, led by his friend Ibrahim Traore, have effectively proved that youthful leaders can be trusted with authority.
Furthermore, he stated that President William Ruto had failed to maintain the hope Kenyans placed in him when he was elected in 2022.
This, he claimed, will be Ruto’s doom as he bids to defend his second term in 2027.

“I am genuinely disappointed because this is the president who ought to have been the best President of Kenya, having been raised from a very humble background,” Babu stated.
“When he won in 2022, I knew he had won 2027, but as we move towards 2027, he is losing it already because of obvious things like over-taxation and the high cost of living.”
Babu went on to mention potential allies, listing prominent leaders such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo, and Eugene Wamalwa.
He also pointed out Gladys Wanga, Irungu Kang’ata, and George Natembeya as some of the individuals he would consider partnering with.
