Mwalimu Dida Freed After A 3-Year Serve In a US Correctional Facility
Mwalimu Mohammed Abduba Dida, a two-time presidential contender, is free after serving a three-year sentence in the United States of America.
Dida was scheduled to depart the facility on April 3, 2029, after being sentenced to 7 years; nevertheless, he was released on parole.
Being “released on parole” indicates that a prisoner is conditionally freed from prison before serving the entirety of their term in the community under supervision.
According to records from the Big Muddy Correctional Facility in Illinois, Mwalimu Dida walked to freedom on March 3, and he will provide philanthropic services for the remainder of his time in the United States.
Dida had been in the penal prison since November 18, 2022, when he was found guilty of stalking and threatening his American wife in the Midwestern US state.

According to court documents, Dida violated a restraining order by entering an area that was designated off-limits under US law.
The event occurred when he visited a mosque near the protected individual’s home.

His purpose was apparently to attend prayers, but the visit placed him in a prohibited zone, resulting in his arrest and subsequent incarceration.
“He went to a mosque nearby to pray, not knowing it was within an area he was barred from entering, as Mama Lila also frequently visited the same mosque,” a family member explained.
Dida’s relatives claim that the breach was unintentional and are requesting government assistance and legal representation.
He was later jailed in Illinois after being detained at the Southwestern Correctional Center.
